WHY BOOK HOVER FLY?

​

Hover Fly is an extremely competent and inspiring creative leader with a fun, captivating and energising presence. She has been sharing her passion for music with young people in creative educational settings for 15 years.

​

During her 10 years’ as a professional artist and performer, she has been featured on BBC 6 Music and Jazz FM, won a global competition to appear on the ‘Climate Soundtrack’ compilation album raising funds to fight climate change, performed in many UK-renowned jazz festivals and venues, recorded for artists at Warner Bros Studios, performed as a bassist in top venues of Bristol's jam scene and scored music for a short film for an international director in Hong Kong.

In her work sharing this passion and experience with others, she has co-created original music with children for a Youth Theatre Company, led an award-winning Gospel Choir in a school, facilitated music workshops at a creative nursery, delivered captivating songwriting workshops at primary schools, taught therapeutic music to teenaged refugees and asylumn seekers at the charity Play For Progress, led a music project at a Cambodian orphanage and taught private music tuition to children.


Her bespoke workshops can be tailored to specific areas of study for any Key Stage and covers:

Her deep empathetic nature allows her to intuitively follow the flow of group creativity, and weaving this with trauma-informed grounding and breathing practices, she is able to bring out the deepest and most healing, fun and liberating experience for her participants.

​

Her work goes beyond curriculum and surface level musical engagement, as she draws on her 25 years of self-inquiry and well-being practices to enrich and deepen her musical offerings.  From dancing ballet since age 3 and playing musical instruments from age 5, she has cultivated a highly-developed mind-body-sound connection and energetic sensitivity to emotion, and advocates working with creativity as a powerful life-force energy in the body to help live a full, healthy and deeply satisfying life.
